The CRC is one such legislation. A mandatory scheme proposed to cut carbon emissions by 1.2 million tonnes by 2020 and an 80% cut in carbon emissions by 2050. With the exception of transportation fuels, CRC covers all forms of energy, including electricity, gas, fuel and oil.
It is off general consensus that this nature of legislation and government pressure within this sector will continue and will more than likely to encompass a larger number of entities as the need for energy and carbon reduction grows.
