About the Business
Air Environmental was formed in October 1997 by a partnership of Richard Hepworth and Allan Shaw. Both brought extensive experience in the trade of air conditioning and refrigeration, with a background of working together at a former Sheffield-based company from 1989.
Shortly after, they brought on a third partner and shareholder – Steve Cooper who was appointed as the Service and Maintenance Director. Steve brought his lifetime experience and knowledge into the business, developing greatly the service and maintenance department, responsible for making it as efficient as it is today. Continual growth of the business meant subsequent expansion, enabling us to bring in more field engineers and operational staff for our team.
During our years of growth, we have developed specific expertise in all areas of commercial air conditioning and commercial refrigeration. Our experienced team is able to provide the service, maintenance and installation of large chillers, split systems and VRF, either in conjunction with remote air cooled or packaged units.
We are equally competent in the supply and installation of temperature control equipment which can cool and heat, plus, humidify depending on your atmospheric requirements. We can also provide everything from a single split system unit to a multi-unit installation to make sure that we can meet your requirements.
Our experienced maintenance and service department are able to fulfil any service or repair that your air conditioning, refrigeration or ventilation system requires. Regardless of whether the system was purchased from us or elsewhere, and we offer this option to our clients either by contract or a call out service.
At Air Environmental Ltd we place a high level of importance on ensuring that each member of our staff is equipped with the necessary training required to safely and effectively perform their role. Due to this commitment all of our engineers hold valid skill cards and are also CRB-checked, ensuring that we can provide a high level of service at your peace of mind.
Our skill set and knowledge is vast. Our engineers hold up-to-date PASMA, IPATH qualifications, are UKATA certified and hold CITB for the safe handling of refrigerants.

Our dedicated, highly qualified installation teams have experience in all types of Air Conditioning installations. If you are looking to install Air Conditioning into your business premises, we are able to come to the premises and size-up the equipment that will meet all of your current requirements. If necessary, we can also take into consideration any expansion plans you may have.
We can ensure that your business, restaurant or offices are both heated and cooled to the correct government guidelines. We are able to supply a range of Air Conditioning products, including split systems, VRF, comfort cooling, packaged, and chillers. We can supply all leading brands ensuring you get the best equipment for your needs.

Maintenance Packages:
Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is the most important part of ensuring the correct running of your systems, and will reduce time spent on inconvenient, expensive call-outs.
It is proven that regular maintenance of equipment will greatly reduce the number of breakdowns and with our maintenance packages starting from as little as £60.00, maintenance is an affordable and sensible choice to make. What do I need to know about maintenance?
Your air conditioning system should be maintained and serviced by a professional engineer on a regular basis to ensure that it is running correctly and that no faults are present.
The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) requires that all air conditioning systems should be inspected at least every five years. All air conditioning units also come with a manufacturer’s warranty, which requires that you have your units maintained, so it is important to ensure that this is carried out to avoid any problems with the validity of the warranty.
This can require a higher frequency of checks than the EPBD guidelines. Lastly, the European unions’ F.GAS regulation (No 842/2006), which came into force on 4th July 2007, requires that you ensure that leak detection is carried out on a regular basis.
